GigaPan View of the Inauguration



This is really really neat, whether you're into photography, politics, technology, or none of the above. It's a shot taken with a robotic system, allowing a camera to capture an enormous area on 'film' within a very short period of time. The file is 59,783 X 24,658 pixels or 1,474 megapixels. It's an amazing thing to be able to take a seemingly simple inauguration photograph, and zoom into points like you were standing there in person with a pair of binoculars in hand.
